The Clergy of Saint Ambrose

Father Dalton

Pastor Reverend Bryan Dalton

Father Bryan John Dalton was born August 4, 1945 in Listowel, County Kerry, Ireland. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Miami in 1970 at St. John Seminary, Waterford. Father Dalton’s appointments in the Archdiocese have included St. Juliana, West Palm Beach, 1970-1972; St. Monica, Opa-Locka, 1973-1977; and St. Ambrose, 1978-1984. In 1984, Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy appointed Father Dalton the Pastor of St. Richard Church, Miami. While there, Father built the permanent church, expanded the parish ministries and apostolates available to the growing parish family. Archbishop McCarthy again called on Fr. Dalton to return to St. Ambrose as Pastor in 1993. In Father Dalton’s years as pastor, his spirit-filled guidance and hard work ethic has transformed St. Ambrose into one of finest parishes in the Archdiocese. He has increased membership, ministries, and has transformed the church and school into beautiful examples of Christ’s living presence here on earth!

Father Dalton is one of four children born to Mona and Dennis Dalton, now deceased. Father Dalton’s brother, Brendan Dalton is also a priest of the Archdiocese of Miami and pastor of St. Bernadette Church in Hollywood. Both sisters, Mona and Rosemary are married and live in Ireland. Father has six nieces and nephews
